Videographer/Content Producer

Position: Videographer/ Content Producer
Hours: Weekly contract
Salary: $16.50 – $20.00+ DOE
Supervisor: Executive Director

Background: Community Media Television is a nonprofit community media center with a mission to cultivate a greater sense of community and encourage civic engagement through the use of media. Serving the city of Millbrae and its regional neighbors for more than 20 years, MCTV is an award-winning organization focused on media and community. MCTV works with several municipalities to broadcast public meetings live on city channels and streaming online. The organization produces local and original content that is distributed regionally.

Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with team & crew, and execute video projects from start to finish
  2. Work with with internal stakeholders to understand project objectives and requirements
  3. Assist with storyboards and shot lists to outline the visual narrative
  4. Set up and operate cameras, lighting equipment, and audio recording devices
  5. Capture high-quality footage on location or in a studio setting
  6. Edit video content using industry-standard software to create polished final products
  7. Add visual effects, sound design, and music to enhance the overall production value
  8. Ensure videos are delivered on time and within budget constraints
  9. Maintain an organized library of digital assets for future use
  10. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and techniques to continuously improve video quality

Requirements:

  1. Prior experience as a Videographer or Video Producer in a professional setting
  2. Demonstrated proficiency in operating cameras, lighting equipment, and audio recording devices
  3. Proficient in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro
  4. A keen eye for detail and composition to capture visually appealing shots
  5. Strong storytelling skills with the ability to translate concepts into compelling narratives
  6. Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  7. Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and clients
  8. A portfolio showcasing your previous videography and production work
  9. Flexibility to work on location and adapt to different shooting environments
  10. A passion for staying updated with industry trends and new technologies

Master Control Operator

Position: Master Control Operator
Hours: Monday – Thursday nights
Salary: $16.50 – $20.00+ DOE
Supervisor: Executive Director
*Must be available weeknights for City Council meetings & must provide own transportation*

Responsibilities:

  1. Monitor multiple channels for signal quality, audio/video synchronization, closed captioning, and overall compliance
  2. Operate and maintain all master control equipment such as servers, switchers, routers, automation systems, etc.
  3. Prepare programming schedules and ensure accurate timing of commercials, promos, and other content
  4. Troubleshoot technical issues as they arise during live broadcasts or pre-recorded programs
  5. Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth transitions between programs and commercials
  6. Maintain accurate records of program logs, discrepancies, and technical issues
  7. Follow standard operating procedures to ensure compliance with industry regulations
  8. Stay up-to-date with the latest broadcast technologies and industry trends

Requirements:

  1. Prior experience working as a Master Control Operator or in a similar role in the broadcasting industry
  2. Strong technical knowledge of broadcast equipment such as servers, switchers, routers, automation systems, etc.
  3. Familiarity with broadcast standards and regulations
  4. Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively under pressure
  5. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues quickly
  6. Good communication skills to coordinate with various departments
  7. Flexibility to work in a 24/7 environment, including weekends and holidays
  8. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
